How To Navigate The Cabo Airport (SJD)

6 Tips for Navigating Through the Cabo Airport

Planning a trip to Cabo entails preparing for lots of sunshine, relaxing vibes, and time dedicated to yourself and/or loved ones. Vacationing in Cabo already places you down the path to paradise, but before you arrive at your luxury villa in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, you’ll need to first get through the Cabo airport.

Navigating through any airport can pose a challenge for some. All airports are different, and it’s not difficult to get turned around while trying to find your way through SJD (San Jose del Cabo Airport code). Arriving in an airport in a different country only makes the navigation process that more difficult.

Before you arrive at the Cabo airport, you must do a bit of research on what to expect. Having a few tips in mind on navigating through the airport will make your arrival to Cabo a smooth journey with no surprises.

Continue reading below for everything you need to know!

1. Know the Terminals

If you’re traveling through the Cabo airport, then you should be familiar with the two terminals. Terminal 1 mainly deals with domestic flights located inside Mexico. There are a few international flights that arrive/depart, but not often. Terminal 1 is not properly equipped with Customs and Border Patrol officials or the shopping/dining variety that one can find in Terminal 2.

Terminal 2 is where mainly all international Los Cabos flights at the SJD airport are handled. If you’re flying into Cabo from another country, expect to fly into terminal 2. When your flight arrives, you could land and exit through a jetway, but you will almost always board a bus and be transferred to Terminal 2.

You might also need to go down a few stairs before arriving in the terminal. Once arriving in the terminal, there are some more steps you’ll need to take before getting into your Cabo airport transportation.

2. Exchanging Money at the Cabo Airport

No matter which terminal it is that you arrive in, there will be a money exchange office inside it. Each terminal also offers ATMs for your convenience. Keep in mind that many places of business in Cabo will accept American dollars.

All major credit cards are also accepted here. Because of this, you won’t have to worry about exchanging too much of your money into pesos. If you decide to use the SJD currency exchange, expect expedited service, but also know that you will pay a premium.  This is true in almost all airports around the world–currency exchanges are more expensive at the airport and Cabo is no exception.  Although currency fluctuates and prices vary, we’ve had some customers that claim to have paid a 10% premium on currency exchange at the airport.

If you plan on visiting small shops and restaurants while on your vacation, then expect to pay with pesos. It’s the small, privately owned businesses that give you an authentic Cabo experience, so you’ll want to visit them. You’ll also need a few pesos here and there for tipping your transportation services and other types of services while in Cabo.

3. Make Your Way to Immigration

Before you can make your way to your luggage, you’ll need to get through the immigration office. It’s a good idea to have all of your documents ready while you’re waiting in line. Luckily, this line tends to move quite quickly so get your documents out as soon as possible.

These important documents include your passport and your tourist card or immigration form. You most likely filled this form out while on the plane. If you weren’t given this card to fill out while on the plane, then be sure to keep your eye out for one as you disembark your plane. There is usually an official that will want to see a completed document before you advance to the customs area.

After passing through immigration, you’ll be given a form (or visa). Be sure to keep this form as you’ll need it when departing. If you lose it while in Cabo, then plan to arrive 20 minutes earlier than normal so you can purchase a new one.  It will cost you about USD $30.

4. Grab Your Luggage at the Baggage Carousel

After getting through the immigration office, you’ll then need to grab your luggage at the baggage carousel. When arriving at customs, you’ll be asked to press a button. This button will give you either a red or green light.

If the light turns green, you’re free to grab your luggage and proceed to the next step. If the light turns red, then your bag will need to be inspected. A good tip to keep in mind is to not bring any agricultural products or fruit with you to Cabo.

After grabbing your luggage, you can then proceed to transportation.

5. Know the Los Cabos Airport Map

After passing through customs, know where you need to go.  Although most transportation is located in a similar area, you will want to make your way directly to your destination. Chauffered Transportation will be waiting for you outside the building. If you’ve rented a car, then this is where you’ll go to get all of your car rental information. Know your SJD Airport map so you understand where these areas are located.

If you’ve opted for a private Cabo airport shuttle or taxi to take you to your villa or rental from the airport, then you’ll be able to find your driver just outside the airport doors. Your driver will most likely be holding up a sign with your name on it. If you booked with our company, your Concierge will give you precise instructions on how to find your driver.

Do keep in mind that there will be plenty of taxi options waiting at the airport for travelers in need. You always have the option of hopping into one of these taxis as well. Make sure you know the price of your trip before you get into the car.  Although 90% of the time you’ll be fine, there’s always a small chance you pay more than expected.

6. Pass by a Few Sale Pitches

Don’t be surprised if you run into a few people looking to pitch you some great deals for exploring Cabo. These timeshare sales will be something you walk past upon leaving the airport. If you already have booked a package or have everything planned out for your stays, such as a villa rental, transportation, and activities, then you won’t need to purchase/negotiate any other offer. You can simply tell them, “no thank you,” and continue to your Cabo airport transportation.

It helps to mention that timeshare representatives will be offering you transportation the moment you pass through customs.  They are known to tell people they will help find your transportation or even get you better-priced transportation.  What sounds like an interesting trade almost always turns into a terrible ordeal.  Push through them and proceed to your pre-arranged transportation.  If you give them an inch, they’ll want to take a mile…

Year Round Cabo Weather Forecast

Using Cabo Weather Averages to Choose the Best Time to Come to Cabo

In 2017, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, had a record-breaking year for tourism.

Perhaps it’s the fantastic Cabo weather, the fabulous hotel accommodations, the beautiful beaches, or the array of wonderful food. Regardless, the city welcomed almost three million visitors in 2017 alone.

In fact, that was Cabo’s strongest tourism year since 2010, growing an astounding 16 percent, highlighted by a six-month-long growth streak.

So, what’s the best weather Los Cabos has to offer? If you’re planning an epic family trip, what months should you consider for your visit?

Here, we highlight the Cabo San Lucas water temperature by month, offer insight into the Cabo San Lucas hurricane season, and discuss the average year-round temperatures you can expect to feel.

Let’s get started!

The Average San Jose Del Cabo Weather

When’s the best time to plan the ultimate Cabo vacation?

Well, the good news is that Cabo’s weather is relatively predictable, and you can go by their yearly averages to plan a trip you’ll enjoy. The temperatures range, on average, from 61 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit. According to travel experts, the best time to enjoy outdoor activities in Cabo is from mid-March to late June.

During these months, the weather isn’t oppressively hot, and you can enjoy activities like fishing, swimming, and laying out on the myriad of Cabo beaches.

Of course, if you don’t mind dry heat (especially if you’re coming from colder environments), you can enjoy Cabo even in its peak hottest months, which range from mid-June to the end of October. You can expect average temperatures of about 89 degrees Fahrenheit during this period.

“Winters” in Cabo can hardly be called that! Cabo weather in the winter months, from early December to the last weeks of March, sits at an ideal daily temperature of about 81 degrees F.

The Cabo San Lucas weather in January is when you’ll see the most drastic dip, and even then, the temperature is a cool 61 degrees F (the lowest), with a high of 79 degrees F.

The Cabo San Lucas weather by month doesn’t change much, and because of this, it’s easy to plan and pack. Keep your clothing lightweight, show a little skin, and bring a light jacket for walking on the beach at night. You’ll likely never even have to unpack the coat!

The Typical Water Temperature By Month

Cabo’s water temperatures are just as delightful as the weather. Here, we’ll offer a breakdown of the average water temperature in Cabo San Lucas by month.

If the temperature does fluctuate a bit from morning to evening, it’s +/- about three degrees. This offers a nice reliable guide to the water temperatures so that you can plan a snorkel, diving, or swimming trip.

Top Water Activities You Must Try In Cabo

You’ll never be at a loss of things to do in Cabo, but especially not when it comes to the water. Whether you’re scuba-certified or not, whether you’ve got a large family or you’re there with your spouse, consider adding the following activities to your itinerary:

Some of the best beaches in Cabo are:

The reason these beaches stand out is because of their fantastic scenery. Medano Beach, for example, is a two-mile-long coastline that offers golden sand and is known for having some of the best swimming in the area. Because of that, it is pretty popular, so expect some larger crowds.

Other beaches, like Lover’s Beach, provide looming expanses of granite that frame the coastline. Boulders surround you and even jut out from the water, providing an exciting backdrop that you won’t find at every Cabo beach.

Santa Maria is known for great snorkeling and maybe a whale sighting, while Chileno is famous for its pristine water quality.

When Is Cabo San Lucas’ Hurricane Season?

The Eastern Pacific Ocean, where Cabo San Lucas is located, does have a hurricane season every year. Its timeframe is from May 15th to November 30th. The peak part of the season for both sides of the coast, however, is from August through October.

According to experts at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the coming years’ hurricane season should be near-normal. There’s a 30 percent chance the season could be above-normal, as well as a 30% chance it could be below-normal.

With that in mind, you can plan around the peak season if you’re concerned. Meteorologists track hurricanes days in advance, though, allowing people ample opportunity to prepare.

The Complete Guide to Cabo Deep Sea Fishing Trips

Cabo Deep Sea Fishing – What You Must Know Before Booking

cabo fishing chartersFrom stunning beaches to migrating whales, challenging surf to luxury beachside condos, Cabo San Lucas is an incredible destination. Travelers from all over the world come here for many reasons, but a common thread is to take advantage of the incomparable fishing in the crystalline waters of the Pacific and Sea of Cortez. Travelers interested in planning a memorable Fishing Charter must be sure to begin by selecting the right vessel from a variety of sportfishing boats.

However, in order to maximize the value of your sportfishing charters, anglers need to know a few things. In this guide, we will explore some of the most critical considerations to make prior to booking a berth on any of the sport fishing boats.

Cabo San Lucas Fishing Charter Ground Rules

cabo san lucas fishing chartersThe time of year plays a central role in the success of all fishing trips. It will dictate what species are available, and exactly how productive an angler’s trip might be. To secure an epic journey—no matter what time of year you are on the water—it is essential to secure several elements for the best success.

Is a Cabo San Lucas Deep Sea Fishing License Required?

Yes, anyone hoping to catch anything with Cabo fishing charters is required to have a license. In most cases, these can be purchased from the company itself. Anglers will need to pay cash and to present a valid ID. Some stores in the area, particularly in and around the marina, also sell licenses. The cost varies depending on how long the license is issued for but is under $60 USD for an entire year. Anyone 16 or over is required to have a valid license, and random inspections are conducted on the water. Don’t buy one without speaking with your trip organizer first – sometimes the boat will include them in your charter price.

What About Fishing Gear?

In most cases, any fishing gear required will be provided by the boat. Cabo San Lucas fishing charters offer everything from rods and reels to bait and guides with expert knowledge of the area’s waters, the richest fishing spots, and the places to avoid due to crowds. Note that the charter company captain will only provide fishing and safety gear, though. It’s recommended that all anglers bring some gear of their own, including:

How to Choose Cabo Fishing Charters

Prior to choosing a company from the sportfishing fleet, anglers should do some preliminary research into key considerations. These include the following:

Accommodations For Offshore Cabo Fishing Charters

For anyone interested in booking a fishing trip, it will also be important to arrange for accommodations during a stay. Things to consider go far beyond proximity to the Marina, though. For instance, would it be preferable to stay in town? Would a beachfront villa be a better fit? Ultra-high-end luxury accommodations are available, as are villas well suited to weddings, bachelor parties, and even corporate trips. From the Pacific-side to Cabo San Lucas itself, the Corridor, San Jose, and East Cape, luxury villas deliver delightful comfort and easy access to charter companies and the area’s most productive waters.

For those who are visiting specifically for a sportfishing experience, our team recommends accommodations close to the marina.  The following are the most accessible private housing developments near each marina. Give us a call and we will help you make these arrangements.

Cabo San Lucas Deep Sea Sport Fishing Charters

Cabo SportfishingOne of the greatest storytellers of all time, Zane Grey, described Cabo Sportfishing as being an unparalleled experience. His description sketches a sport-fishing endeavor from centuries ago, of nine tunas, the yellowfin variety.

Four of those nine fish weighed above a hundred and fifty pounds, while the remaining tunas weighed around a hundred. This is an average catch for every pair of anglers fishing within a radius of two miles around the shore. If this is what local sport fishing was like a century ago, one can only imagine how much more thrilling it would be now, thanks to various advancements.

The waters of the Sea of Cortez will leave you breathless with the variety of fish it contains, regardless of how seasoned you are as an angler. However, the region’s layout has undergone several alterations since Zane Grey’s frenzy of yellowfin from a century ago.

At the time, one could only reach the fishing grounds of Baja by getting aboard one’s own vessel, setting sail, and venturing south. Now, there is a complete network that includes airports, a maze of proper roads, and hotels as well. Mexico is today, one of the hottest vacation spots in the world, and for a good reason.

If one tries to compare Mexico of today to that of the 1920s, one will find very few similarities. However, if there is only one thing that remains unaltered today, it is the area fishing grounds.

Fishing is a timeless activity. The waters seem to promise that no matter how many schools of anglers gather to fish in the welcoming shores, they will never leave empty-handed. So what makes the Sea of Cortez an unparalleled fishing region? Read on to find out.

cabo sport fishingCabo San Lucas enjoys an unbeatable international reputation of being a fishing haven. It sits at the meeting point of the sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean. A few miles down the shore lay deep, magical waters, with multiple banks one can access during a day trip and several seamounts. Warm waters all through the year ensure that this area remains a hub for the most sought-after, giant game fish.

Whenever one thinks about Cabo Sportfishing, the image that instantly pops into mind is of grand Marlins leaping gracefully out of the water. This is not a surprising fact, considering that the city hosts a world tournament for the highest paying Marlin every year. Even today, this is perhaps the only place that has seen the most broken records for Billfish than anywhere else in the world.

The Sea of Cortez is not merely limited to Permit and Bonefish. It is home to much more than the humungous Billfish. A lot of reasons account for why people regard this area as among the all-rounder fishing destinations of the Pacific.

Cabo Sport Fishing Seasons

Cabo San Lucas sportfishing has no high or low seasons. So whether one is into offshore fishing or inshore fishing, the local waters always make sure there is something for everyone on the other side of the line.

There cannot be a better choice for every traveling angler. It not only offers quality but quantity, along with a breathtaking experience.

Deep Sea Cabo Sport-Fishing for Striped Marlin & Sailfish

Cabo Sport-FishingFor ages, people have referred to Cabo San Lucas as the world’s capital of the Striped Marlin, and one does not have to wonder why. The area really has the numbers to prove why it serves as the Marlin Capital.

Striped Marlin is among the most active fishing experiences one can ever experience. The peak season for striped Marlin is from November till March. However, there are fair chances of catching them through the rest of the year as well.

The best method for trapping some Striped Marlin is through live bait trolling. Most experienced guides also mandate using circle hooks. Circle hooks reduce the likelihood of damaging the fish and increase their chances of survival once those fishing release them.

Best Fish Species to Catch in Cabo San Lucas

From the month of October to December, the weather cools down to a certain extent, with the temperatures ranging between high 80’s to low 90’s and humidity in the high 60’s. The most important fact is that water temperatures are the most optimal for big fish during these months. However, anglers and fishers can catch one of at least five species of fish at almost any time of the year.

Dorado

Dorado Fishing

These colorful species jump and fight hard if someone hooks them, but have an exquisite taste. One can find them in large numbers because of their fast growth. These species live to a maximum of six years of age and do not gain more than 90lbs of weight.

Yellowfin Tuna

Yellowfin Tuna

Yellowfin tuna fish resembles a torpedo, with a silver belly, yellow sides, and bluebacks in dark metallic hues. This fish species can live up to seven years. Yellowfin tuna have a highly migratory nature, and one can find them in plentiful numbers throughout the Indian Oceans, Atlantic, and Pacific.

Striped Marlin

Striped Marlin

As already described in length, Striped Marlin is the signature catch of Cabo San Lucas. This species is in the super-fast category and can weigh anywhere between fifty to three hundred pounds. Fishers from all over the world consider reeling an IGFA-legal Marlin on a hook as a world-class achievement.

Sierra Spanish Mackerel

Sierra Spanish Mackerel

The area also refers to this fish species like the Pacific Sierra. People give great importance to this fish throughout the range. Sierra always makes a great catch on Cabo sport fishing trips. These fish splash on the surface using bait to make fishers aware of their presence.

Cabo San Lucas Fishing Fleet

Sport Fishing CharterAs far as the Sportfishing fleet is concerned, an angler can avail of many options. Many anglers opt to trail their own boats to the local area, while others cruise all the way from San Diego. The most common preference among visiting anglers seems to be flying down and fishing from the local charters.

There is a fleet available to choose from, in the marina’s northwest corner, Picante. The options range from a Shamrock worth 24 feet tall to a Cabo Express worth 45 feet tall. If someone happens to visit Picante, they will find two custom yachts worth 68 feet tall, which are also available for parties or extending fishing ventures.

Fishing Grounds in Cabo San Lucas

The local area is blessed by nature with an ideal location in terms of fishing. On the left of the town, one has the gorgeous Sea of Cortez, ripe with teeming fish and warm waters. On the right lies the Pacific Ocean, which serves as a terrific venue for an exuberating angling experience. All in all, It’s a hot spot for fishing enthusiasts of the world.

There is hardly any other spot in the world where anglers can avail such perfect locations from one point. Although there is no physical line to differentiate between the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, the disparities are glaringly obvious between both fisheries.

Each major hotspot features its own seasonality and species, which is why one must know where to go when heading out to wet their line.

Gordo Banks

People dub Gordo banks as “Wahoo Banks,” which is quite an appropriate reference. As per tradition, this has been Baja California’s most popular fishery. Gordo Banks is a fishing gem that lies a mere five miles away from the coastline. It sits on the southeast of Cabo San Lucas and is a combination of two fishing joints: the Outer and Inner Gordo Banks.

The Inner Gordo Bank lies within close proximity of the local pangas, which are the cheap and sturdy open skiffs, varying between 20 to 28 feet.

The most productive spots of the area are the Outer Gordo Banks. One can have their fill of Grouper, Pargo, Dorado, Yellowtail, Jacks, and Wahoo over here. Anglers with a taste for big game can also get their hands on some superb Marlin, Sailfish, and Tuna here.

Sea of Cortez

If one wonders where they can find the most diverse ecosystem in the world, the answer would be the Sea of Cortez. An alluring collection of baitfish, along with more than five thousand invertebrate species, lives in the temperate Cortez sea waters. Present in millions over here are herring, mackerel, sardines, squid, and shrimp.

Close to the shore, one can find plenty of Amberjack, Snapper, and Roosterfish. Further down, offshore stars like Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Tuna, and Dorado are available.

Santa Maria Canyon

Santa Maria Canyon lies close to home territory, just nine miles away from the south of the town. The Canyon is where Billfish, Tuna, and Dorado commonly gather. Owing to the closeness of San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, Santa Maria Canyon is the perfect option for anglers and fishers when the tide gets rough.

1150 Bank

For anglers who come looking for great stories to take back home, along with wonderful fishing experience, 1150 Bank is just the place. One can find this bank around twenty-five miles offshore, with a winning combination of baitfish and underwater structures. 1150 Bank is not only a hotspot for Tuna and Marlin, but one can also see several Shark species frequently visiting this bank. One popular visitor from the shark family is the Mako.

Getting Started with Cabo Marlin Fishing

How does it all start?

There is a multitude of pre-arranged tours that can be organized in the fishing destination of Cabo San Lucas.

Once anglers have picked the tour that is right for their group, they can expect the tour organizers and their experienced crew to ensure everything else is ready for their trip: licenses, bait and tackle, snacks, drinks, etc.

It is recommended that guests confer with their concierge before choosing the right tour operator. These experienced and professional blue marlin charter professionals will do all it takes to ensure that they have everything needed to go fishing and enjoy it to the fullest extent. However, each captain and crew is slightly different than the next.

Being upfront and honest with your concierge and tour operator about experience level and expectations is encouraged. The level of detail provided will provide the best results for a great day of fishing in Cabo. And once all of the logistics are out of the way, guests can board the marlin fishing Cabo boat and begin their fishing adventure.

What to Expect with Marlin Fishing in Cabo

As visitors, keep in mind that it is required to buy a fishing license.

During peak seasons there will be a rush of tourists and it’s not unusual to have to wait in the line to purchase the license so be prepared for a possible delay. These licenses are provided by the Mexican authorities and are purchased at the marina.

Most charter boats and travelers leave for fishing around the same time, which could increase wait times before the boat leaves the marina. We always recommend an early fishing excursion, which will position for the best opportunity and quickest launch ability.

The good news is when purchasing a chartered fishing package, a license, bait, tackle, and equipment is (usually) all included. Some packages even include food and drinks.

Your chartered fishing trip will leave early morning, usually by 7 AM and last 4 to 6 hours long. When your trip ends, it’s a nice gesture to tip a minimum of 15% to the crew. Depending on what you catch, you can refer to their better judgment as to where you should clean and bag your fish. If it’s a small amount, you might want to consider one of the many restaurants around the marina that offer catch and cook options. These restaurants will take your whole fish and make a meal, complete with side dishes, sauces, and multiple-course options.

How Does The Weather Impact Marlin Fishing?

Thinking about Cabo San Lucas seasonality and whether or not weather may play a role in your fishing trip is important. Weather can impact fishing, plain and simple.

It’s not uncommon for authorities to call off fishing due to unsafe weather conditions. These fishing bans can last anywhere from a few hours to a day or longer. Most cancellations are during hurricane season, which is August to late-September or early-October. When booking your trip during these months, make sure you know the refund policy.

Live Bait for Cabo Marlin Fishing

Live baiting is one of the most interesting and exciting features of Cabo fishing expeditions and charters.

Live bait is actually provided both for 1/2 day charters and also for the full day charters. The half-day charters offer consumers 5 live baits while you get 10 for full-day charters. This is the standard for all professional charter operators in Cabo.

The live bait usually will not be available after 9 AM because of the fish retreat deep into the water. Therefore, it’s best for consumers to arrive before 9 AM to ensure they get their pick of live bait and get the chance to enjoy the best catches.

Can You Keep the Fish?

Yes, you can. Each person is allowed to catch and keep 5 fish per day. If you go fishing with 4 people, get a good captain, and hit the right spots, you have the potential to bring home 20 trophy fish in one day.

Best Time to go Marlin Fishing in Cabo?

Wondering what the best time is for marlin fishing in Cabo?

Cabo San Lucas marlin fishing season does exist! And it’s in September!

Many fishermen find that Striped Marlin is available year-round while Black Marlin and Blue Marlin are available in the warmer months, leading into September.

Cabo is actually called the “Marlin Capital of the World!” In addition, anglers will get to experience fishing a variety of fish, including Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, and Wahoo.
Curious to see a month-by-month calendar of marlin fishing? Check out this awesome resource.

What’s the Travel Time Like?

It is also important to have a good understanding of travel time so that customers are able to make the most of their trip.

The entire fishing area is protected and it runs for a distance of around 2 miles. It starts from the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez. Therefore, fishing can only be done when located in designated areas and permitted locations. This is another important and vital point that must be considered before going in for that much-expected Marlin Fishing Cabo expedition.

The travel time would depend on the weather, and a few other factors, but in most cases, the customers will have enough time to fish once they have reached the permitted spot. You should expect your crew to require at least 20 to 30 minutes to get to a decent fishing location when trolling for Marlin.

Final Thoughts

Even if you don’t find a fish, you can count on the scenery to be breathtaking and very enjoyable. This is one of the beauties of fishing in Cabo. Additionally, the quality of the staff of the chartering companies usually is high quality and they go out of their way to ensure that your trip is a memorable experience.

When choosing where to stay in Los Cabos, there is a myriad of options.  Our team of villa professionals knows the area, the communities, the beaches, and the nightlife.  We keep an inventory of construction timelines and road closures.  Our Cabo Villa Specialists spend their nights reviewing our inventory, so you can spend your days enjoying your vacation.

We are happy to discuss all of these details with you and look forward to using our knowledge to assist with your vacation.  We ask that you provide us with a few pieces of information so that we can help target the best match.  Our discovery phase will require you to know the following:

With this information, we’ll be able to provide you with a few possibilities that will work best for your group.  Please keep us updated and informed, in the event, you find alternative solutions.  We have a Price Match Guarantee, which means we’ll match the price of the same unit in the event you find it priced lower on anywhere else.

Our team specializes in Corporate Groups as they will sometimes require the most particular requests.  We also assist with bachelor and bachelorette parties, as these groups have grown to require a special skill-set.  Unfortunately, many homes do not rent to all male or all female groups any longer as there have been noise complaints and damages in the past, thus preventing future Cabo San Lucas vacation rentals in those same houses.  Therefore, our group of villa specialists will guide you to the villas that meet your needs, thus saving you time and increasing your villa hunting efficiency.

In the past 5 years, Cabo Vacation Rentals have become increasingly more popular.  Whether it’s their first time in the Baja or it’s a returning guest that no longer wants to travel to Cancun, our team has created several programs to help navigate our client’s decision making and reduce the time spent on finding the right villa.  Beyond our efficiency and honesty, our pinnacle mission is to help our guests realize the best option for their vacation rentals in Cabo San Lucas.

Cabo Golf CoursesThis is a short breakdown of our favorite golf courses in Cabo. Starting in Cabo San Lucas, moving to the Tourist Corridor, and finishing in San Jose del Cabo, we will cover close to every course in the area. For a more in-depth and informative breakdown of each course, it’s creation, and the development, we encourage you to take a look at our official Golf Package. This page was created and influenced by local experts who’ve called Cabo home for many years.

Cabo San Lucas Golf Courses

Quivira Golf Club

Cabo San Lucas GolfDesigned by the hall-of-fame golfer, Jack Nicklaus, this course combines championship design with one of the most stunning locations in the world. It is situated along the coast of Baja California Sur on the Pacific Oceanside. Running along the coastline, players are continuously impressed by the ocean views that frequently present migrating whales, when in season. All 18 holes feature ocean views while 7 of them run directly along the coast, which makes for a rewarding and challenging experience. Throughout this course, there are 4 comfort stations where you can cool off and grab a beer and bite to eat.

Quivira Golf Club is only available to people who are staying in the Quivira community. Our beautiful and affordable 3-bedroom condo rentals give you access to the world-renown Quivira Golf Course.

Diamante – Dunes Course

The Diamante Dunes Course holds the highest accolades of any golf course in Cabo. Designed on a perfect golf landscape by the famous golfer, Davis Love III, this course is ranked #35 in the world by Golf Magazine. This 18-hole course provides golfers with a challenging yet rewarding experience each and every time. Running along with cliffs of the Diamante Dunes, this course will test your ability to control your swing. Between sandy dunes and vast ocean views, this course has one of the most beautiful settings in the Cabo area. Players can enjoy complimentary smoothies and snacks before their round along with multiple mid-course comfort stations.

In order to play the Dunes Course, you must be staying in the Diamante community. See their incredible Golf Villas on our website.

Diamante – El Cardonal

While this course does not have the international rankings that the Dunes Course has, it is very special for another reason. It is the first-ever completed golf course designed by Tiger Woods. Being a lover of Cabo and the Diamante landscape, he decided to put his footprint in the area. When designing this course, Tiger wanted to incorporate parts of the game that he loves: long fairways, natural obstacles, and a course that tests your game both mentally and physically. This course is located a little more in-land than the Dunes Course but still provides spectacular Pacific Ocean views from almost every hole. This course provides the same amenities as the Dunes Course: complimentary smoothies and snacks before their round along with multiple mid-course comfort stations.

In order to play El Cardonal, you must also be staying in the Diamante community. See another Diamante Golf Villa along with all of the spectacular amenities the community offers on our website.

Diamante – Oasis Par-3 Course

Another Tiger Woods designed golf course in the Diamante profile is the Par-3 Oasis Course. It consists of 12 holes and is perfect for golfers of all skill levels. Each hole is around 100 yards long with the longest being 143 yards. Get together with your group and go try and sink an unforgettable hole-in-one on your Cabo vacation!

Cabo San Lucas Country Club

The Cabo San Lucas Country Club is one of the most widely loved courses in the area. It caters to golfers of every skill level, provides incredible views, offers reasonable green fees, and is open to anyone who wants to play. Following Hurricane Lidia, the Country Club was renovated in 2018 by renowned golf course designer, Agustín Pizá. He wanted to keep the parts players loved and enhance the areas that needed some attention. By doing this, he created 7 brand-new holes and designed the course to maximize views of the Sea of Cortez. If you just want to hit some range balls while in Cabo, this is the place to go. Their driving range is open to anyone and everyone and features the only after-hours practice range in Cabo so you can spend an evening drinking beer and hitting into the lights.

This course is centrally located and easily accessible from any of our Cabo San Lucas Villas.

Tourist Corridor Golf Courses

Cabo Del Sol Desert Course

Designed by the famous golf course architect Tom Weiskopf, this course features one of the most intriguing designs in Cabo. The Cabo del Sol Desert Course features some of the highest elevations in Cabo, which provides players with some of the most incredible views in the area. This course is perfect for players of all skill levels. It provides wide fairways, expansive greens, and an environment that will make you feel like you truly belong on the links. You can enjoy Sea of Cortez views from almost every hole and man-made lakes and waterfalls on several others.

Cabo Del Sol Ocean Course

While people who haven’t spent a lot of time on a Cabo golf course would say the Desert Course is stunning, the real winner of this battle is the Ocean Course. Designed by legendary golfer, Jack Nicklaus, this course has a championship ambiance plastered all over it. According to Golf Digest, the Cabo Del Sol Ocean Course is one of the Top 100 Courses in the World. Before this course was built and Nicklaus was brought in to review the landscape, he was quoted saying this terrain was “the best golf property” he’d ever seen. This 18-hole, 7,100-yard course features spectacular ocean, desert, and mountain views, while 7 holes sit directly on the Sea of Cortez.

Cabo Real

This course is one of the favorites in the area. Running along the Tourist Corridor, with holes on both sides of the highway, this course provides its players with several different landscapes and viewpoints. It was designed by legendary golf course designer, Robert Trent Jones Jr. This course is described as balanced and will test your long, mid, and short games. Cabo Real is a championship course and has been host to two PGA Senior Slam events in the past.

Chileno Bay Golf Club

Along with one of the most renowned beaches in Los Cabos, Chileno also offers a beautiful golf course. It is designed by famous golf course designer, Tom Fazio. His main goal with this course was to provide a fun course that took full advantage of its stunning location. With views of the Sea of Cortez and the Sierra La Laguna Mountains, this course has one of the most unforgettable settings in Cabo. Players can enjoy signature comfort stations with snack bars or outdoor grills.

San Jose del Cabo Golf Courses

Puerto Los Cabos Golf

There are two golf courses in the Puerto Los Cabos community: the Mission Course and the Ocean Course. With a combined 27 holes between the two courses, players can choose which combination of 18 they would like to play. 18 holes were designed by Jack Nicklaus and the additional 9 were designed by Greg Norman. With challenging holes, breathtaking views, and a friendly environment, Puerto Los Cabos golf is loved by everyone who plays it. You can enjoy comfort stations that serve delicious tacos and burritos.

Palmilla Golf Club

Another Cabo golf course designed by legendary golfer, Jack Nicklaus, Palmilla is another top course in the area. It features three separate 9-hole courses: Ocean, Mountain, and Arroyo Courses. Each has a slightly different style of play, but they are all amazing in their own right. The Ocean Course has a couple of holes that are just steps away from the soft sandy beach of Palmilla. This is an up-and-down course that features a 600-ft elevation change in the first six holes.
