Is Cabo Safe to Travel To?

Amidst all the recent travel restrictions and advisories, it’s obvious to ask: is traveling to Cabo San Lucas safe? Are there any tourism limitations? And what COVID-19 safety protocols apply in Cabo San Lucas?

If there is something that can be certainly said about Cabo and its people – it is the resilience that runs in our blood. Neither storm nor a pandemic can stop us from pushing forward! The virus plagued all economies equally, but we are standing up faster than we thought. We are adapting to the new normal and getting accustomed to new ways of learning, eating, socializing, and even traveling.

Coming to the million-dollar question – How safe is Cabo San Lucas 2021?

Thousands of tourists visit Cabo San Lucas every year. It’s one of the most tourist-rich regions in Mexico. But 2021 has been a bit different. The good news is, Cabo San Lucas is proudly declared the safest destination by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and is already open for international tourism.

General Information On COVID-19 In Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Well, no place in the world is entirely free from the coronavirus. Cabo San Lucas is no different, but in an area with a small population, active cases are relatively trivial, that too all under treatment or quarantine.

In May, Cabo San Lucas was allowed to reopen with strict health and safety protocols put in place by all businesses, especially for traveling. It’s the first destination in North America to be certified as the safest destination.

Masks for tourists are mandatory in public places like airports, transportation, and grocery store, etc. In private spaces like hotel/ villa, beach, restaurant, and guided tour, where social distancing is also available, a mask isn’t necessary. However, the staff is suggested to always wear masks and gloves to keep the visitors and themselves safe.

Other than basic protocols, it’s suggested for visitors to exercise increased caution and immediately contact their hotel or rental villa authorities if they feel sick. Carry your travel gear, vitamins, sanitizers, masks, gloves, and other essentials to make your trip safe.
